Description of Artifact: This artifact is my educational philosophy statement. This short statement holds what I believe my classroom and educational teachings should be.
Artifact Alignment: My role in serving others is listed in the statement below. Children are all unique in their abilities and personalities and I will be serve them in a classroom that allows them to thrive at whatever stage they are emotionally or academically.
Future Goal: I hope to be able to create a classroom where all students are noticed, heard, and pushed to be the best version of themselves. Creating a space, allowing conversations to be had, and working with the community are just a few ways that I will best serve my classroom, school, and community.
Sense of Inquiry Reflection: Through completing the artifacts in this section, I have learned many things about my own self as a student. I have been able to assess the struggles and issues I dealt with as an elementary student and it has helped me solidify who I will be as a future teacher. Serving others in my classroom and in my community will be the core of everything I do as a teacher. I want to reach the students who are begging to be heard, and I want to be their voice as they find their way through this rough world. I will serve my students in every way possible, encouraging them to be the best version of themselves, to be vocal citizens who advocate for themselves and others, and to immerse themselves in knowledge that I provide.
Educational Philosophy Statement
My philosophy of education is that all children are unique in their abilities. All students deserve to learn through the educational environment in order to improve their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional self. In my classroom, I will make sure that each and every student can seek knowledge in their own unique ways. Whether they are auditory, physical, visual, or kinesthetic learner, they will have the ability to flourish in all aspects of their lives. I will make sure that the students get an education, but I will also make sure that each student expresses who they are, and embraces their peers for their differences.
As a teacher, I should bring to the table an open mind, high expectations, dedication, knowledge, and respect. I will work with students, faculty, family, and the community to make sure that my students are receiving the most out of their education. I hope to facilitate critical thinking in my classroom while making real world connections between the students.
My role as a teacher would be to assist children in these aspects of education. I will assist them to find what they are passionate about, as well as helping them grow in knowledge. I will present curriculum that is interactive, relevant and that meets the different learning abilities of my students. I will bring to my children new ways of learning and growing, and focus on raising humans and not test takers.
* Lets see where this philosophical statement will take me.
