Student Learning Outcome: 4- Sense of Praxis
Description of Artifact: My experience at the Affton School District was highly influenced by the technology and culture of the classroom. This was my experience and what I learned in the third grade classroom.
Artifact Alignment: Seeing how schools incorporate technology to enhance the modern student has shown me the importance of adapting your classroom to student needs.
Future Goal: To be prepared as a teacher in education is an impossible goal. The career field of education is always changing and growing. As educators, we may never be 100% fully prepared for everything our classroom will bring to us. However, the experiences we go through and lessons we learn before we are teachers will strength our ability to be the best version of educators to those children. I hope that my experiences through university and being in schools prior to teaching will solidify my strengths as a teacher and in turn make me a better teacher for my students.
Sense of Praxis Reflection: The experiences that I have has as a student teacher will forever shape the way I teach in my own future classroom. Incorporating technology to better enrich the lives of my students has been something that we have perfected in 2020 with the Covid-19 Pandemic. Sharing our experiences and reflecting on our growth is the most important aspect to becoming a better educator.
This third classroom was full of spunky kids, who loved their apple family more than anything... Lets take a look at Mrs.Pierces third grade classroom.

Diversity and Equality
Although these students were just showing off their apple family, they were digging much deeper into the large topic of diversity and equality. As the students sat down to explain their apply family to me, they touched a lot on the differences that each apple has. One has a few bruises, one has an extra long stem, one has large eyes, one has a cute hat, and it kept going. But something these students might not be quite aware of is there ability to look at each apples differences, but not discriminate against any of the qualities that the apples had. I wonder if their minds understand how beautiful that is. Again, we are teaching students skills and knowledge, but we are still teaching them how to be kind humans. And these students are on the right track.

Classroom Design and Work
The overall classroom was slightly small, but the students were comfortable with the size. The green painted walls of the classroom give you a comforting feeling when you walk in, again that common theme of feeling at home when you enter a class is SO important. The students had so much ability to move around in the classroom, making sure that freedom of learning was available was awesome to see.
Modern Student: Technology
Something we have talked about a lot is this idea of the modern student. Well in Mrs. Pierce's classroom, the students are learning using their technology in a way that they love.
They were beyond excited to show me their math game on their computers. The beauty in this math game is that its personalized to the learner in many ways. Firstly, the students have the ability to make an avatar that looks like them. Secondly, the students can choose how they want to play the game and lastly, the game is catered to the students abilities when it comes to math. For example, the students who are more advanced in a skill move up to higher levels so that the students are always challenged.

Just Keep Learning
Although we were only in their while the students worked on their math lesson, the classroom was full of learning opportunities for the students. This wall in articular outlined all the kinds of genres that are exposed in literature, as well as a rows of books available for the students

Plan, Do, Act
We saw this in the fifth grade art classroom, and here it is again. Continuously teaching students the importance of planing, doing, and acting is crucial to their development as students. For students to be able to identify these three things, will help them a lot when it comes to time management in the future.
